Beautiful skin with aromatherapy and essential oils – and save money!

28 August, 2008 at 8:08 pm (Essential Oils)

I know that you can have exquisite and beautiful skin I believe with the daily use of organic essential oils, mixed in an Organic carefully chosen base oil.

Aromatherapy is a natural therapy which is becoming increasingly popular. It is not new (indeed it is known to have been practised by the Ancient Egyptians), but in our twenty first century society, full of stresses, pollution and chemical solutions to illness – aromatherapy has come to be seen as a gentle, relaxing and extremely pleasant mode of healing. Importantly it is also a wonderful way to treat different skin conditions.

Aromatherapy is one of the few therapies which can be practised – and enjoyed at home. Although the major principles and benefits of the therapy: wonderful perfumes, gentle massage, skin and beauty care may seem to be aimed more to women but also men are certainly benefiting from aromatherapy essential oils as well.

Most commercial skin-care products work only superficially on the surface of the skin and also irritating ingredients are added bringing about only minimal changes to the internal nature of the skin. Because essential oils on the other hands can penetrate the skin and help to restore proper functioning, they actually beautify the skin from within and are the perfect ‘anti-ageing solutions.’

My Youth and Beauty Pack Youth and Beauty Pack – Organic Essential Oils is ideal. It contains the most exquisite quality of Organic essential oils and organic base oils well researched which will enable you to achieve that. Aromatherapy makes the skin look healthy, thus obviating the need for make- up, giving a much natural look.

The Youth and Beauty Pack is the answer to a time when we are told that a recession is coming and we have to save money.

By saving your skin from expensive beauty products, you can make over 100 easy recipes and enjoy preparing your own cleanser, facial serum, toner, mask, body oil, bath essence, facial and body scrub, hair products etc…

With the Youth and Beauty Pack you can make so many formulations to suit your skin. Easy to take with you on holidays and on short trips or even ideal to take with you in your sport bag.

The perfect answer to a busy life and also will save you money.

Enjoy beautiful skin!

Best wishes

Meditation with Aromatherapy Essential Oils

22 August, 2008 at 1:06 pm (Meditation)

Meditation is not only a process of contemplation or reflection, it is certainly not day dreaming or a simple relaxation. It is more than that. It involves training your attention and awareness, bringing this mental process under your control. For me this process is part of self- development adding benefits of enhancing my physical and psychological well-being. Aromatherapy essential oils can be a wonderful help with meditation.

Since the early 1960s researchers have been investigating the specific effects of meditation on the human mind and body.

Last week in Paris, I was reading in the national newspaper, Le Figaro, a special 4 page article, on research findings and evidence with investigating responses to stress. They found that people who meditated were found to respond more rapidly and more positively to potential stress and stressors. Their heart activity returned to normal faster than non-mediators once the potential threat has passed. All the studies were done on voluntary Buddhist monks.

The practice of meditation originated app. 6000 years ago. Certain forms of meditation were used by different religious groups. Most of the forms we know today are essentially of eastern origin.

Meditation teaches us to control rather than been controlled by our thoughts and emotions. Most minds go from one subject to another in a string of endless associations which you can detect when you watch yourself carefully.

Meditating can be most useful in the challenges and tasks found in our daily life .It helps to make intentional mental processes such as planning and problem–solving. Meditations take many forms, some more complex practices than others. The type of meditation you practise has not too much importance as long as you feel comfortable and enjoy doing it.

It is however important that you are consistent, regular and dedicated to your technique. You will gradually begin to notice subtle but definite changes that will intensify as your practice deepens.

The breathing method is a technique when your focal point is all on your breathing.

I will suggest that you use a blend of aromatherapy organic essential oils and allow your awareness to focus on the rising and falling of your abdomen and also on the aromas flowing through your nostrils. Let you breath come naturally, enjoy breathing the aromas.

You can use this method for 10 to 20 minutes each day

Use in the blend Orange, Petit Grain, Ylang Ylang. Couple of drops of each placed in a bowl of hot water place near where you meditate.

Relax and enjoy.

Anti-Ageing Secret!

28 July, 2008 at 11:10 am (Organic Skincare)

I have always believed in all women having beautiful skin. What you do shows on your skin, such as: drinking, sunbathing, smoking and bad diet, all damage the skin.

My love of Nature and Aromatherapy has led to discovering the best ingredients which really work. In the last few decades, thanks to new technology, new extractions and distillations of plants ingredients have taken place. We can also prove their capability to help rejuvenating the skin.

As the skin ages, it loses its elasticity and collagen and usually encounters problems in retaining moisture and repairing itself. But it is not just ageing which can affects your skin, environmental or emotional stress can be just as damaging.

The most important and ‘the must’ in skin care is a good Moisturiser. Most women are trying to find one which is suitable to their skin and which will help repair dry, wrinkled sensitive damaged skin. A moisturiser which can help inflamed or irritated skin and which will provide help to combat premature ageing.

It happens also, that most ageing skin suffers from a lack of tone and firmness. A good crème must contain ingredients which can help to strengthen the skin’s protective barrier, helping cells to rejuvenate. An efficient crème must penetrate and been absorbed quickly, leaving the skin fresh, revitalized and luminous.

Because I am a practitioner I know a great deal about women and their skin. I deal with their health holistically. I am not there to judge but I’m there to help repair the damages caused during their life.

The new Moisturising Crème
I have been able to rework a wonderful formulation, giving this moisturiser the right ingredients to give the best performance. There are No cosmetic ‘nasties’ in this formulation. The product contains organic and seed oils as well as extracts of plants, vitamins and minerals and plant Hormones. I believe it is most important to have a formulation of active ingredients reinforcing each other in their effect. Organics, Almond and Organic Borage and Rosehip Seed Oils for instance help rejuvenation and prevent wrinkles.

Do read the brochure that comes with the crème as it will give you all the information you require

Also, if you want to know more about Aromatherapy, do consult my latest book ‘Danièle Ryman Secrets of youth and Beautyrecently published by Pan Macmillan/ Rodale. The chapter on ‘The Skin’ will guide you to know more about your skin type and will give you a certain knowledge and confidence to look properly after your own skin.

Best wishes

Scientific study with Lavender aromatherapy oil – Essential Oils for Well-Being

9 June, 2008 at 8:59 am (Uncategorized)

9 June 2006

Scientific study with Lavender aromatherapy oil -

Essential Oils for Well-Being

Dr Ian Mason sent me an interesting study, with the use and effects using of Lavender aromatherapy oil. We became friends over 15 years ago when I appeared on some of his medical TV programmes send me a scientific paper from Chicago.

Dated March 11th 2008, in Chicago Illinois, he thought I would be most interested by its content.

Citation: Journal of the American College of Cardiology

Relaxation effects of Lavender Aromatherapy, improves Coronary flow velocity.

It has been reported that mental stress is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular events and impairs coronary circulation. Lavender Aromatherapy, one of the most popular complementary treatments, is recognized as a beneficial mental relaxation therapy. However, no study has examined the effect of this therapy on coronary flow velocity reserve (CFVR).

For the research study, they had enrolled 30 healthy young men, aged between 24 and 40 years. They used an instrument to check the coronary flow velocities in the left anterior descending coronary artery (recorded with an Acuson instrument).

The flow velocity was assessed immediately after diluting 4 drops of Lavender aromatherapy essential oil, in 20 ml of hot water, and inhaled for a period of 30 minutes. The same method was used and repeated with the same volunteers without aromatherapy lavender oil as a control study.

The conclusions of the study did not surprise me:

The scientific paper states that: Lavender aromatherapy reduced serum cortisol and improved CFVR in the respondents. This finding suggests that Lavender has relaxation effects and may have beneficial acute effects on coronary circulation and stress.

I am very pleased to have received this finding, as it will help scientists to understand how aromatherapy works to help overcome stress.

Health of Body and Mind is an irreplaceable present or gift

Plato said: ‘No attempt should be made to cure the body without the soul and if the head and body are to be healthy, you must begin by curing the mind.

Maintaining psychological well being can often be difficult. It is now accepted that the mind and emotions have a greater influence on the body’s state of health than was previously accepted in orthodox medicine.

We all realize that if we feel worried or unhappy our body tends to feel sluggish, weary and also more prone to aches and pains and infections. One positive way to help the body and the mind interact for well being, is to exercise, which can simply be going for a walk in a park. I strongly recommend to my clients to add essential oils when taking bath and if possible, followed by a body massage. What a wonderful difference it makes!

These positive steps maintain a positive outlook. All these steps must been followed by a sensitive diet then your state of mind will certainly be enhanced.

Try these following oils:

Lavender to relax

Rosemary to energize

Petit Grain for stress

Peppermint and Nutmeg to improve your libido

Neroli and Rose for joie de Vivre

For more information of these, and so many more, essential oils, with their different and various safe ways, are featured in my latest book: Secrets of youth and Beauty.

You will also find so many great ideas, and easy-to-follow wonderful recipes, to enhance your health and well being.

Essential Oil Packs

Due to the constant requests I receive, I have recently produced 3 x 100% essential organic oil packs, of the best natural oils available sourced from around the world. You will find these are just wonderful to use.

Best wishes

Organic Essential Oils for our immune system

24 April, 2008 at 2:00 pm (Essential Oils)

Health of body and mind is an irreplaceable present or gift.
Our living body is designed to defend and restore itself all along our lives.

Our natural defences are formidable and present. The skin is an incredible structure like a wall of defence, protecting us constantly form invaders, shock and damage and also protecting our inner self.

Our doors of defences are guarded with filters. Invaders that pass these physical defences meet a range of protective barriers such as mucous linings to the mouth and the nose. If our natural defences are breached the body rushes into action and the repair to the damage caused start immediately. The system uses a natural defence of desyintoxication, detoxifying the system.

The role of organic essential oils is there to assist our immune system to fight better against the encountered infection. They have bactericide, antiseptic, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory properties, they really or should find their place in our every day life.

Essential oils used in perfumery, flavouring and in therapies are capable modification due to their adulteration at source, dilution in transit or by various extraction procedure or also mixed with other essential oils to cut down cost.

It is also possible to replicate aromas and create synthetic oils which are known as Nature Identical and resemble the original oil in some of its components. This is why it is important to purchase the right quality organic oils to obtain the desired results, to make skin, body, mind remedies as illustrated in my latest book ‘The Secrets of Youth and Beauty’ published by Pan McMillan.

We have just launched this week our range of organic essential oils, they are stamped with the Soil Association logo. The organic essential oils were approved by the Analytical Committee dealing with authenticity and purity.

The come in three packs with a brochure giving some guidance on how to use them in the most satisfactory way.

1) Starter Pack

2) Youth & Beauty Pack

3) Mothers To Be Pack

I have just returned from Paris where I spent time with my mother. I love Paris it is the city of my youth and I miss it. Paris is always so inspiring and full of surprises, they are at every corner. I love the little boutiques which abound with luxuries and good ideas.

I always check ‘Raisonnance’ a small chain of shops which specialize in youth, beauty and health, selling essential oils and books on aromatherapy. They continually have intriguing and innovative concepts on display.

It was in Paris, where I started work with Marguerite Maury, still recognised as the doyenne of aromatherapy. I was so privileged to have her as my mentor and moved to London when she started her clinic there.

Marguerite Maury established clinics and schools in Paris, London and Switzerland where she gained an outstanding reputation and awards, through her work and innovative research.

For many years, she researched and firmly believed, that the correct essential Oils have a positive effect on our immune system, health and wellbeing.

The Life Force of Nature for Beauty

9 April, 2008 at 2:11 pm (Nature)

What is life force? The wonderful energy which animates all living things?

The energy of the life force comes ultimately from the sun but only plant life through photosynthesis can use it directly.

We all depend on the plants which have been storing that energy for our well being.

The plants breathe carbon dioxide, then release oxygen and store solar energy in chemical form which we use as food and other combinations for our health. Green plants cells tap its energy and make sugars, starches, vitamins, minerals, oils etc.

Prevention is our personal responsibility: Today we are aware that fresh air, good food, exercises and sleep are the basis of good health, but even though prevention is a much applauded concept, few of us actually live their lives as if it were a reality, because people don’t take seriously preventive medicine and rather give the responsibility to others.

I was lucky from an early age to be aware of it. Growing up in France, my parents and grandparents believed in preventive medicine and talked about it and made me practise it and it became so natural to me. One must embrace a good respect for Nature and start to understand how to take care of oneself and also be aware of what you could do to honour your own needs physically and psychologically, taking responsibility.

It made me conscious of what I was eating and also what I was applying to my skin. So when I met Marguerite Maury I had already applied some of the principles of preventive medicine and been aware of the life force in plants. I was a good student as it was natural to me to hear about the cures of certain ailments through the use of essential oils as it was practiced already at home.

After over 40 years using Essential oils and practising Aromatherapy I have found so many solutions to the stressors of today. I refer in many chapters in my last book
‘The Secrets of Youth and Beauty’ giving tips and recipes.

The start of Spring time is the best time to be aware of nature and the changes which happen every day around us, just go to a park it is magic, look at trees, leaves, flowers, birds such an activity.

So start to look after yourself and change your regime.

So what is ageing?: it is losing the appearance of youth, it comes with a great fear, look at magazines , newspapers the media covers those issues weeks by weeks, The number of Anti-Ageing beauty products have increased years by years, I know it sales magazines and bring scar into many of us to stay and keep young.

My book which has been published only few months ago has been so helpful to so many of you. Thank you for all your emails and letters, they all have demonstrated the great interest you all have manifested into the subject of keeping youthful, healthy as long as possible.

I know also the difficulty for most of you to find the right essential oil to make your remedy. After so many demands I have made the decision to sale on line the essential oils most needed. I know that you have been waiting for the Organic range of essential oils patiently. It has been at last agreed by the soil association and bearing their logo. That is why it took so long. It had taken a while also to source the organic ingredients which I wanted you to have to make your own recipes after the frustrating time searching for the right ones.

Here they are. I have made three categories of pack which you can see on the website, so now you will be able to change your beauty routine, save money and enjoy making your own range being aware of what you need. You will be also contributing to save the planet by not using Petrochemicals, Parabens, Chemical emulsifier, Synthetic fragrances, colourings, additives, mineral oils and so on and no outer packaging.

Just remember to respect proportions and use the right base oil.

Best wishes

Daniele
